10/31/2024 GALATI COUNTY COUNCIL ISSUED THE URBAN PLANNING CERTIFICATE FOR THE FUTURE BRAILA-GALATI AIRPORT

The Galati County Council (CJ) has issued the urban planning certificate for the construction of the Galati-Braila International Airport, announced Costel Fotea, the institution’s president. Proposed for development on a plot of land located between the communes of Branistea, Tudor Vladimirescu and Slobozia Conachi, with an area of ​​250 hectares (plus another 115 hectares in reserve for possible expansions or investments), the airport could manage a flow of up to 860 passengers per hour.
The facility is equipped with a passenger terminal, with a developed area of ​​28,500 sq m and a cargo terminal, with an area of ​​approximately 5,500 sq m. For maximum efficiency, the control tower will be integrated into the passenger terminal, which will have 9 boarding gates. The runway will be 3,500 meters long, like the airports in Otopeni, Timisoara and Constanta.
The investment value was estimated at around 200 million euros.

The feasibility study is being developed by the association formed by the companies Aduro Impex (leader), Tecno Engineering 2C and WE Project Engineering. The winning association also includes 12 other companies and two institutions, namely: Geostud, Arheo Research, Petrodesign, Gavrila Simion Eco-Museum Research Institute, Eurocerad International, Steerforth Consult, Pro Water Engineers, Protelco, Alcro Trade, “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, 3TI Progetti Italia, Specialist Consulting, Cornel&Cornel Topoexim and MC General Construct Engineering.
